According to reports, the driverless taxi entered a roadway covered by floodwater before being swept into a nearby creek. Thankfully, no passengers were inside the vehicle, and no injuries were reported. However, the incident immediately raised concerns about how autonomous systems interpret hazardous road conditions during heavy rain and flash floods.

Shortly afterward, another similar event occurred in Atlanta, where a Waymo robo-taxi was seen trapped in standing water.
